A kid can start at 4 yrs old. When the kids are young, they tend to memorize the otes and play it by heart which is good . Eventually, their sight reading improves.
If the kids want to learn at a yound age, let them learn.
Both my sister and I started when we were around 5 – 7 years old. This is the stage for when children really absorb what they’re learning. I later on dropped out on learning piano because of academics, but I will always remember the basics and that’s a good thing.
I think they have to be at least 5 because at that point they are mature enough to really sit still and really try. At that age they can absorb the basic concepts of piano and once they get the basic concepts they are at a good age to really understand the note reading idea.
the earliest i have ever heard of was 2-3 years old. a good age is when they become interested. i really suggest 2nd-3rd grade. early elementary. it helped me so much because i was able to learn fractions fast and because of my piano, i can branch off into so many other different and diverse instruments easily
piano doesn’t only just help with learning other instruments and math, it also helps for commitment, it helped my singing, having a good musical ear, and it also created a great way to make friends
Its is probably easier to start young…but i dont think it really matters… i mean i cant sight read and its going to take a lot of practise..but..its one of those things.. if you want to learn.. you can..
