I know that he played piano on the show My Wife and Kids as Franklin, and I searched youtube, but I can’t find anything. If anyone knows where I can find an online video of it, that would be AWESOME. (or anyone willing to upload one…?)

I’ve taken some piano classes for beginners, but they were group classes, and I think the teacher was working more towards getting us to play rather than read. This was in college mind you, so we were all adults. Some of the students had taken piano as kids, and although their playing was quite rusty, they could still read. I learned how to play some easy songs in C (like “when the saints come marching in), but it took me a month of daily practice to be able to play a simplified version of “the Entertainer” by Scott Joplin (not Billy Joel . And I made more progress form hearing and seeing this played by the teacher rather than my having the sheet music in front of me. When I could finally play the song, I wasn’t reading the music at all; I just remembered how to play it because I’d played that one song over and over for a month or a little more. Is this common? I tried to read “Round Midnight”, as well as “Mamanita”(by Jelly Roll Morton), and it looked impossible.
