I want to learn to play the keyboard/piano. I don’t know how to read music and have never had lessons. I especially want to learn how to play some Coldplay songs ex: Clocks, The Scientist. What should I do?

when the kids first come back from music class he grabs his own instruments from his van and asks the guitar player, the bass player, the piano player(keyboard), and drummer to show them what they can do. At the end of the scene he has constructed a song which appears to come from sheet music from “The Doors’.
Anyone know what I mean?

I started piano lessons 5 years ago, I’ve progressed rapidly because I’ve always had an interest in music, and I already knew how to read some music. But I’m nowhere near the level of advancement of some friend’s kids who practice far less than I do.

Is it something innate in the immature vs. the mature brain? Is it just a lack of focus on my part? Is it the same reason why I can’t pick up a foreign language?

A lot of older ppl I know who grew up in the 70′s (were in high school or pre-teens then) seem to know how to play bass, drums, the keyboard/piano & some even the sax. I know some kids like college bands but so many seem disinterested. Not even the turntables & scratching seem as popular as it was in the 90′s.
