Buying a piano so kids can take lessons….any tips?
We’re looking to buy a used piano so our kids can take piano lessons. Don’t want to spend more than $2000. Seems like there are plenty being offered on Craigs List. Has anyone bought a used piano? Any tips? Things we should look for? Thanks.
Kids – piano cover.
This is a song by MGMT that is refreshing and energetic. I decided to give this a shot on the piano to see if I could make it sound interesting. I hope I succeeded. Don’t hesitate to comment or add me or anything! I’ll get back to everyone who comments. Enjoy.
why don’t more parents encourage (make) their kids take piano lessons?
the Asian community knows how beneficial piano lessons are in greatly enhancing coordination, improving math scores, and literally bridging the two brain hemispheres together in a way that most other instruments cannot.
video games are fun, but come on…
sports are fun now, but quickly fade after highschool. piano is a gift that lasts a lifetime.
kids do not always “want” to go to school, but we must “insist” that they go for their own good.
the same is true of learning the piano – is it not?
Please, What are the best sites/resources for learning piano.?
I already know how to read music, I play saxophone. but I am new to piano and I need easy songs and exercises to start with, preferably ones that teach me how to read both treble and Bass clef, since Alto saxophone is only in treble. And preferably ones that show me how to use both hands right. PLUS I DON’T WANT TO PAY FOR SOMETHING THAT SHOULD BE SO ELEMENTARY. Even if the lessons are oriented for kids, that’s fine. Please help, I’m having the hardest time self teaching, starting with hard pieces from free sheet music sites, so don’t reccomend a site that just gives you things like Beethoven’s most difficult symphony!
is learning piano for kids important?
are piano lessons beneficial for kids?
What is your favorite Burt Bacharach song, and what good memories does it bring back?
I’ll speak for myself, and say “Raindrops keep falling on my head”,
because I remember when it first came out in 1969, and I was just old enough at 7 to be hip to the hits on the top 40. It’s the second
song I commited all the lyrics to memory on. I still remember singing “raindrops” in second grade walking to school on a rainy day. How can you beat THOSE memories?
I remember, in the days in the late 60′s when people still gathered
around the piano, and sheet music was all over the top of it,
singing ALFIE along with the family.
I remember ALL the dionne warwick-sung ones when they first hit
on AM radio in the 60′s, except for “walk on by”.
I remember the kids liked the “what do you get when you fall in love” lyricss. That was what was so great about bacharach, his playful lyrics.
What do you get when you fall in love?
A guy with a pin to burst your bubble
That’s what you get for all your trouble.
I’ll never fall in love again.
I’ll never fall in love again.
What do you get when you kiss a guy?
You get enough germs to catch pneumonia.
After you do, he’ll never phone you.
I’ll never fall in love again.
I’ll never fall in love again.
Don’t tell me what is all about,
‘Cause I’ve been there and I’m glad I’m out,
Out of those chains, those chains that bind you
That is why I’m here to remind you
What do you get when you fall in love?
You get enough tears to fill an ocean
That’s what you get for your devotion.
I’ll never fall in love again.
I’ll never fall in love again.
What do you get when you fall in love?
You only get lies and pain and sorrow.
So, for at least until tomorrow,
I’ll never fall in love again!
I’ll never fall in love again!
