I want to learn how to play the piano, but i do not know what is the best way to learn?

okay i know like pretty much nothing about playing any instrument. since i was a kid i loved the piano. the way it is played, the way it sounds okay i gust love it. ive have taken an music class, but i suck at it. i ended up failing that class. so what’s the best way to learn? you think i could learn with an electronic piano too??

Keyboard, piano, harpsichord whatever is fine!

There is no ‘best’ way, everyone is an individual and has different preferences.

    Some suggestions i can provide:
Theory first: A bad thing you can have is to know how to play but not read the notes (If this doesn’t make any sense to you, it does, and i’ve seen it). You want to understand the notes and how to read it without running your fingers to count, or writing the notes below.

You should purchase or if you already have a piano book. In the first pages, it should outline things like EGBDF, FACE, positioning of fingers, note location etc. Once you get your coordination right and understand how to read, playing music should be easy. At first, you might find that simple repetitive tunes or practice notes you play boring, but once you have mastered it, without realizing it harder songs will automatically build on.

    Good luck.

I think it begins with a good teacher. One who know’s how to make the learning in the beginning interesting. Also, it takes practice. When I started learning how to play, I was already an adult. But I went home and practiced every day so by the time I got to my next class, I had already built up the feeling of the music that I wanted to learn. I think if you repeat it over and over again, even though it gets repetitive, you learn it and it gets easier and easier as you go along. Just liket the answer that came before mine. And somehow, you need to get a good attitude about practice, so you make yourself go through with it until you get comfortable enough with it that you want to go home and practice every day. Immerse yourself in it.

there is no “right” way to play piano. there are many methods, but they work better for certain people, than others. its mainly preference.
i play piano, and started out with this little tiny 3 octave keyboard. it is possible to learn with an electronic piano, and is probably better to learn with an electric one, so if you don’t stick with it you don’t waste loads of money. anyway, i think the best way to learn is to just not enroll in some stupid noncaring music class, but rather to ask someone you know that knows how to play if they will teach you. this way you already know each other. also i reccomend the thompson theory books. they are very easy to learn.

good luck! (if you email me i can give you some pointers, and teach you how to play.)

first of all get a good teacher… depending on what you want to play (classical, rock, hip hop, popular etc.). you prob. want to go out and find an upright piano and get it tuned… and if u think you r gonna stick w/ it…. (take the plunge) – buy a grand piano. my feelings are that if you really love it as much as you say you do then you would have tried a little harder and not failed your music class! well thats my opinion and dont get down on yourself… you can do it if i learned to play the piano at three years old!!! (i really did …- no joke!) good luck! :)
