TOYSRUS.KB.TARGET.KMART??

the best keyboard is from Casio. You can probably find them at wal mart or target.
A “good” keyboard will run you over 300 dollars. How old is your son? I would suggest shopping off the ebay power sellers for a decent cheap keyboard and see if your son is interested. If your son does become interested then later on you can worry about buying him a full sized more professional keyboard, or even a piano. But as far as 30 dollars go it will be hard to find a decent keyboard, even a 61 key. I know they have “toy” keyboards under 48 keys at toy stores, walmart, etc… but I wouldn’t call them as an instrument =/ My suggestion is browse on ebay first, and if you can’t find what you are looking for, head to toys-r-us, walmart, kmart, or any other local toy stores. Good luck
you will not find anything remotely good for $30 dollars, maybe second hand or a flea market? If you want him to actually learn how to play anything that would cost $30 dollars, if you can find it, will not be anywhere near good enough.
If you want something new, Fisher Price makes like a xylophone thing…. seriously what can you buy for 30 dollars, pizza?

How are kids these days? Are they disrespectful, abusive, and run completely amok … wonder whose fault that could be.
There are no $30 keyboards. There are $500 pianos.
… Has he broken your $2500 flat screen yet, the $250 microwave, the $30,000 car, the half-million dollar home?
(More time parenting, less time looking for “deals” … just my take on the situation.)
I’m sorry but for $30 the only kind of keyboard you’ll be able to get is maybe a Baby Grand Piano…. from Fisher Price.
Toys R’ Us, KB Toys, Target, and KMart all do not offer quality instruments. Those are the cheap ones that are more like “toys” than they are instruments. Learning from one of those keyboards will become very frustrating and your child will probably end up quitting.
You can always try searching Musician’s Friend for keyboards. Make sure its 88 weighted keys w/ proper action. You can pay with a credit card on their website so you’ll only be paying $20 something a month… Anything below 88 keys w/o proper weighted keys is substandard. You’ll never get the feel of a real piano with anything less. Not to mention your son won’t be able to learn lots of pieces with a limited amount of keys.
Anyways… if you do manage to find one for under $30 odds are it’s going to break anyways… at that kind of price you can rest assured your getting what your paying for… Also if your son intends on slamming the keys and breaking the keyboard perhaps he is not ready to play.
